Insentric includes an Email Link Appender service to help ensure consistent tracking between Marketo Engage and external analytics platforms, such as web analytics tools. This improves data quality and ensures marketing attribution works across platforms.

Supported platforms — where tracking links are applied

Email Link Appender is directly compatible with the following platforms:

• Google Analytics
• Clicky
• Fathom Analytics
• Matomo
• Piwik PRO

Other tools, including Adobe Analytics, may be supported with custom configuration. Contact your Client Success Strategist for more information.

How it works — automated tracking for email links

The Email Link Appender scans your Marketo emails—including editable areas, variables, and tokens—to find links that need tracking. If needed, it updates the link and re-approves the email automatically. You don’t need to take any action.

Once complete, you can review results or any issues from the Admin → Logs section inside Insentric.

To enable this, your Marketo admin installs a special configuration that aligns Program names with your tracking needs.

Onboarding setup — what happens during implementation

During onboarding, we’ll walk you through creating:

• A global token for folder-level tracking
• Custom configuration to define how links are appended
• A unique URL that calls the appender inside Marketo

The Email Link Appender only works on assets—not person records—so it doesn’t process any personal data. No fields in Marketo are updated.

Manage settings — control your link appending rules

To change or review your tracking setup:

1. Go to Marketo Configuration → Email Link Appender inside Insentric.
2. From there, you can:
   • Define parameter tokens
   • Set or edit URL parameters to track
   • Exclude domains from updates
   • Adjust how often the tool runs
   • Trigger manual updates or view your webhook URL
