Salesforce Objects — overview and setup

Salesforce CRM uses an object-based model. Each record—like a Lead, Contact, or Campaign—belongs to an object. These objects have fields that store the data you need. This structure makes it easier to manage your data and link it across Salesforce.

To get the best reports and insights in Insentric, set up the fields you want for each Salesforce object. Do this separately for each object, such as Leads or Campaigns.

Note: Check that your Salesforce connection is active in Insentric. If it isn’t, you won’t see any fields to choose for reports.

When your connection is active, Insentric pulls the available fields for each object. You can then choose which fields to include in your data sync and reports.

In the Insentric admin view’s left bar, go to the Salesforce Configuration menu. You’ll find setup pages for these Salesforce objects:

  • Leads Setup.
  • Contacts Setup.
  • Accounts Setup.
  • Campaigns Setup.
  • Campaign Members Setup.
  • Opportunity Setup.

Each setup page lets you select the fields you want in your reports. This helps you keep your data clean and consistent for marketing and sales insights.

Note: Insentric will also fetch your custom fields. These can be very useful for reporting, but we recommend only choosing the fields that matter to avoid confusion from long, overwhelming lists.
