How to Configure Field Settings for Connected Platforms in Insentric

Proper field setup for the objects in your connected platforms is essential for maintaining accurate and meaningful reporting in Insentric. The process of selecting fields is simple: choose the relevant fields for each object and click Save to apply your configuration.

How to Access Field Configuration

You can manage field settings through the left-hand navigation menu in your Insentric workspace. The exact location of these settings depends on the platform you are connected to:

  • Marketo: Go to the Marketo Fields section to configure available field mappings.
  • Salesforce: Open the Salesforce Configuration section. You will find setup pages for various objects, including Contacts Setup, Accounts Setup, and Campaigns Setup, among others.
  • HubSpot: Navigate to the HubSpot Configuration section, where you can access pages such as Contacts Setup, Companies Setup, and Deals Setup, along with other available objects.

Understanding Grayed-Out Fields

Fields with a light blue checkbox are included by default for reporting. Checkboxes that appear grayed out indicate that your account currently cannot report on these fields because they contain personally identifiable information (PII), which is restricted from processing for privacy and compliance reasons.

Best Practices for Selecting Fields

Use API names to identify fields: Always refer to the API name instead of the display name. In many systems, multiple fields may share the same display name, which can lead to confusion if API names are not used for identification.

Select only the relevant fields: Avoid enabling all available fields. Focus on including only those that are meaningful for your reporting needs. This helps keep the workspace organized and easier to maintain.

Review field setup periodically: As your business processes evolve, so do your reporting requirements. Revisit your field selections regularly to ensure they remain aligned with your goals.
